Happy Little Stampers December Sketch Challenge

Hello to all you happy little stampers!
I'm here with a card for the Happy Little Stampers December Sketch challenge.
Here's the sweet sketch for this month:

This brings back so much nostalgia for me with this vintage looking santa!
Because I enjoyed this sketch so much and being that it is the season of giving, I have not just one, but two cards to share with you using this sketch!

For this card I started with a white cardstock panel cut using MFT's Blueprints #13 and Peek-a-boo Circles. I stamped the script background from Happy Little Stampers, Thinking Of You, in pink behind the die cut panel. The stars were stamped from PTI's O' Tannenbaum and heat embossed in gold. The sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers Mixed Christmas Sentiments paired with Peace Be Still and heat embossed in silver.

The dove is cut and stamped using PTI's Peace Be Still and covered in grey Wink Of Stella to add more glimmer.

On my next card, everything is done the same on this card as it was in the first except I used PTI's Joyful Christmas, with another fabulous sentiment from Happy Little Stampers Mixed Christmas Sentiments. I just love all the different fonts Kylie used when creating the sentiments for this set!

Be sure to visit the Happy Little Stampers blog and leave some love along the way. One lucky commenter will win a sweet prize from Happy Little Stampers!

I'll be entering this card into the following challenges:

Monthly Challenge With Marcia!

Good Monday morning! I can't believe we're at the end of November already! Time really does fly by!
Each month, my sweet friend Marcia and I have been giving each other challenges and this month really snuck up on me! I'm posting a lil' bit late but at least I'm posting!! This month our challenge was water coloring. That was a good stretch for me because I need all the help and practice I can get. Here's my cards:
The first card uses Sweet 'N Sassy's Christmas Light and Light of Christmas. I heat embossed the candle image in white and used water colors to color it in.

For this card, I used a grid pattern and selectively water colored some squares. MFT's Cup of Warmth is so fun to play with!!

I struggle when it comes to water coloring backgrounds and this was was a second attempt, as the first ended up in the circular file. Not quite sure how I feel about it, but I was running out of time and had to get another card done.
I heat embossed some snowflakes in white and added the sweet sled from PTI's Six Feet Deep.

Be sure to stop by Marcia's blog and see her beautiful creations!!
We really appreciate your visits and your feedback!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings~ Birgit

PTI's November Blog Hop

Thanksgiving is here!! Today is a busy pie making day for me so I'm popping by this morning to post my card to PTI's November Blog Hop. Look at this gorgeous inspiration photo:

Here's my card:

I used Joyful Christmas and Quilted Winter and created a focal cluster from Lexi's MIM tutorial a while back.
It's kind of hard to tell in the photo, because of my genius lack of photography skills, but the stars and the last part of the sentiment are heat embossed in silver.
It's prettier in real life. ;0)

I hope you have fun blog hopping today! I'll be visiting and commenting in between pies!
Have a blessed Thanksgiving!!

PTI ~ Make-It Monday ~ Layered Stamping on Kraft

Playing along with Dawn McVey's PTI Make-It Monday doing layered stamping on Kraft cardstock. You can find all the details HERE.

I used Filled With Joy for this card.

I've done this kind of stamping before but I don't often think to use it. Here's another card I made way back when...

For this one, I used Out On A Limb.
A fun technique with beautiful results!

I'll also be entering one of these cards into the Word Art Wednesday Challenge

PTI ~ Make-It Monday Motif's

It was Betsy's turn this week to host the Make-It Monday challenge and she did a fabulous inspiration piece on building Motif's!

This was so much fun to put together!

I started by stamping the snowflake from Peace Be Still and added the sprig from Note Niblets. The arched leaves are from Embellished Elegance and the large stars from O' Tannenbaum. The small star cluster and cardinal is from Holiday Folk. The sentiment is from Joyful Christmas and was heat embossed in silver.

So much FUN!
I'll also be adding this to the Word Art Wednesday Challenge

Getting Foxy

Curtain Call is having a "FOXY" challenge right now ~ So cute!!

You can check out all the details on their blog.

I used PTI's Hello Foxy. I stamped the sentiment onto a folder tab cut using MFT's File Tab which is currently on clearance so grab one while you can! The clouds are cut using WPlus9's Hello Sunshine. I used glitter paper for the outline of the cloud because this is a "foxy" card and she deserves some glam!

I'll also be adding this card to the Word Art Wednesday challenge.

To Everything There Is A Season

In a time of uncertainty, it's comforting to know that in all things, God is in control. My heart and prayers go out to the City of Lights, all the people in Paris who've been affected by such a tragedy. With that said, I'll share this card that I made a couple of weeks ago and never got around to posting. It's a reminder that it all has purpose under heaven.

I used PTI's Songbird to create this. I did some ink blending on white cardstock and cut the leaves and flowers. I went chalkboard style with the sentiment.

I'll be adding this to the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday
The Card Concept
Classy Cards N' Such

Please remember to keep Paris in your prayers.

Tag You're It! Challenge #34

Hello friends~ Just popping in with a quick post for a tag for the Tag You're It challenge.
Here's this week's cute inspiration tag

I used Sweet 'N Sassy's cute new set "Winter Is For The Birds". These little fella's are all dressed up for the cold winter ahead and boy are they ever fun to color up and give life to. A little reminder to bundle up for the cold weather ahead!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings~ Birgit

Christmas Cheer ~ Die Cuts Only

Good morning paper crafting friends~ I'm here to day with a card I made for the City Crafters Challenge using only dies. No stamping or printed paper allowed. It was tougher than I thought it would be as the first card I made, I realized I was using printed paper. Here's two cards I made using this challenge, but I'll only be entering one card into the challenge.

I used Memory Box's Grand Merry Christmas and MFT's Hug In A Mug to make my card. The only thing I did was add a couple touches of copic marker details on the whipped cream and marshmallows.

This CAS stocking shaped card is the one I had to do twice after realizing that I had cut the holly leaves using a printed paper. OOPS! The stocking die is from MFT.

I'll be entering one of these cards into the following challenges:

Merry Monday ~ Pink, Green & White

Happy Saturday! I'm hopping on real quick to add this card to the Merry Monday challenge using pink, green & white.

Sorry for the poor photography skills I'm showing off here. The lighting is terrible in my north facing craft room and white just doesn't seem to photograph well for me. Anyway, I used PTI's Quilted Winter and the mittens from My Creative Time's Winter Cheer to make this joyfully colored card. I added some clear Wink of Stella to the mitten cuffs to give them some sparkle.

I'll also be entering this card into the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday
The Sisterhood of Crafters

Thanks so much for looking! Blessings~ Birgit

Cover Plate Water Coloring with PTI

Good morning friends. I'm playing along with this week's Make It Monday with PTI. Ashley has a great video on creating water colored backgrounds using cover plates. What a fun challenge this was for this gal who's completely water coloring challenged!! Here's my card:

I used the circle cover plate and randomly painted some of the circles in using Zig Real Brush pens. I die cut the flower bundle from Brushed Blooms and used the Zig pens to paint the stamps and then spritzed them with water. I'm not totally thrilled with how it came out but it is what it is.
Thanks so much for visiting and taking the time to leave me a comment. It means a lot to me and warms my heart!

Blessings ~ Birgit

Another Tag for Day 3 of 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Here's another tag for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags

This one is inspired by the tags with gifts on day 3

I used My Creative Time's Holiday Tags Stamp & Die set to create a Santa instead of a package. I thought it would be a fun twist on the gift package idea.

Be sure to join in on all the tag making fun! There are so many tag challenges going on right now.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings~ Birgit

A Tag for 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Good Monday morning friends~ I'm here with a tag that I'll be linking up with Tracey's
I was inspired by the fun tags from day 7 using the North Pole ticket designs by Sugarpea Designs.

I don't have the Sugarpea sets but I do have an old, unlabled set that I purchased from Michael's or AC Moore years ago. Sorry I don't know the name of it, but it has this cute North Pole Express ticket stamp included in the set. I added a Quickutz reindeer cut from gold foil cardstock and some holly leaves with red stickles berries.

Thanks so much for popping by! Blessings~ Birgit

Fabric Strip Christmas Tree ~ PTI MIM

Happy Friday everyone! I finally found time to get crafty and try Melissa Phillips super cute MIM project. You can find all the details on Nichole's blog.

After seeing Jill's tree in a spool, it inspired me to put mine in this old wooden shoe mold that I have.

The rusty bells are really tiny but I thought they would be really cute on this along with a couple of old buttons.

I die cut two primitive style stars in and distressed the edges a bit and added some gold glitter around the edges and put them back to back on the top of the tree.

So there you have it! My primitive little shoe tree! Thanks Melissa for the sweet inspiration!

So Grateful with WPLUS9

I've been wanting to play along with Maureen Merritt's Throwback Thursday Challenge for WPlus9. Maureen used Fair Isle backgrounds and that set is still sitting in my wishlist on their website so I thought I'd give it a try using "Merry & Bright"

I stamped a pine pattern across the top and bottom of the stamped panel and added the candle and more sprigs in the center using fall colors instead of Christmas colors. I think this set can be used for so many occasions, not just Christmas.

I'll also be entering this card into the following challenges:

So Grateful

Just popping in to post another card to the Curtain Call Challenge using this cozy photo for inspiration and Sweet Sunday Sketch. I flipped the sketch from left to right.

All the die cuts used on this card are from MFT. Their Blueprints are absolutely the BEST! I can always find a die cut to suit my needs. I used elements from #'s 6, 13 & 20. The little gal is from their Birdie Brown line called "Warmest Wishes". She is colored up and given life using copics. The fall leaves are from Quikutz. The sentiments is also from MFT's "Thankful Leaves" set.

I'll be entering this card into the following challenges:
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge ~ anything goes!
Sisterhood of Crafters ~ fall is in the air
Word Art Wednesday ~ anything goes!
